About the role
An international M&E contractor is hiring a mechanical lead for a data centre build in Denmark. You will own the mechanical package on site: engineering, installation, commissioning, and handover. You will lead the mechanical engineers, not only do the work yourself. You must already be able to work and travel freely in Europe. No visa sponsorship. The site is on site in Fredericia, about 50 km / 45 50 minutes from Billund Airport. Multi year programme of work.
What you will do
- Lead mechanical engineering and commissioning from design through handover
- Set the standard for coordinated drawings, submittals, and system walk downs
- Own the mechanical programme: progress, vendors, sub contractors, and test packs
- Review design for constructability and close technical issues without delay
- Drive procurement, receipt verification, and RFI control
- Walk down P&IDs and layouts and hold the quality line
- Lead technical meetings with the design team, contractors, and the site team
- Mentor, coach, and allocate work across the mechanical engineers
- Keep EHS and quality systems tight on the mechanical package
What you will need
- Degree in building services or mechanical engineering, or a senior trades equivalent
- At least 5 years' project engineering with a mechanical contractor, with lead or package experience
- A record of delivering mechanical work on data centre, pharma, industrial, or mission critical projects
- Able to walk down mechanical systems and sign off compliance
- Strong on submittals, commissioning, commercial awareness, and people leadership
- Used to running a package, not only a single system
