About the role
A international M&E contractor is hiring a senior mechanical engineer for a data centre build in Denmark. You will own mechanical engineering on the project: design, procurement, installation, testing, and handover. You will also mentor junior engineers. You must already be able to work and travel freely in Europe. No visa sponsorship. The site is on site in Fredericia, about 50 km / 45 50 minutes from Billund Airport. Multi year programme of work.
What you will do
- Collate design documents and drawings and attend project handover meetings
- Review the spec, coordinated drawings, and technical submittals for compliance
- Look for value engineering and cost saving opportunities
- Process requisitions and purchase orders, and receipt verify equipment on site
- Raise RFIs and keep document control tight
- Walk down mechanical systems, P&IDs, and layouts for quality and compliance
- Populate and track test packs
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments
- Organise and assess sub contractor work
- Understand the commercial picture: profit plan, variations, and take offs
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and graduates
What you will need
- Degree in building services or mechanical engineering, or a senior trades equivalent
- At least 5 years' project engineering with a mechanical contractor
- A record of delivering mechanical work on commercial, industrial, pharma, or data centre projects
- Able to walk down mechanical systems against specification
- Experience of technical submittals, reviews, and assessments
- Commercial awareness and a strong grip on EHS and quality
- Used to leading others and managing several priorities
